Pennsylvania Online Notary Registration

Here is a summary of the process:

Hold a regular notary commission

You must already hold a regular Pennsylvania notary commission in order to get approved as a Pennsylvania online notary public.

Select a remote online notary technoilogy provider and obtain your digital signing certificate 

Once your application is approved, log onto the Department of State’s website to choose approved electronic/remote notary technology provider(s) (link to ENotary Services/Select Vendors). The electronic/remote notary may select more than one approved electronic/remote notary technology providers from the List of Approved Electronic and Remote Notarization Technology Providers.

Fill out and submit your application to the state

Obtain the remote notary authorization application and submit the completed application along with your training certificate of completion and $100 fee to the Secretary of State’s office. You will need to name in the application the state-approved RON technology provider(s) you plan to use and disclose any disciplinary actions or commission revocations, if applicable.
